Sport Auckland works directly with 10 Primary Schools and 1 Intermediate School within the Roskill Cluster. The Roskill Cluster consists of a very diverse population with a number of different ethnicities contributing to its vibrant community making it one of the most diverse suburbs in New Zealand. This diversity is reflected among all students and schools that make up the cluster which vary from decile 1 to decile 8 schools. Sport Auckland supports these Schools and their communities to provide quality opportunities to participate in sport and play for the young people within the cluster.
Matt is a proud Wellingtonian who now resides in Auckland. He ventured down to the University of Otago, where he completed a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Commerce. After a brief stint living in London, he returned to Auckland and took up a role at Kelston Girls College. This role fuelled his passion for working alongside young people and is now the Community Sport Advisor for the Mt Roskill cluster at Sport Auckland.
He is a passionate sports person, who plays hockey at North Harbour. He is also an avid sports follower and is a faithful Hurricanes supporter. He is keen to help utilise his passion and knowledge to work alongside schools to help create a culture of healthy lifestyles and active children.
