Want to make a positive difference to the tamariki in primary and intermediate schools across Auckland’s central suburbs? 

Sport Auckland in partnership with Aktive are looking to recruit three Healthy Active Learning Advisors who will work directly with selected primary and intermediate schools across the Central Auckland region. This role is critical to Healthy Active Learning, a joint initiative between Sport New Zealand and the Ministries of Health and Education to improve child and youth wellbeing through healthy eating, drinking and quality physical activity. 

Within the Auckland Approach to Community Sport, Korikori has been established to build a system across Auckland that allows young people 5-18 years (tamariki and rangatahi) in priority socio-economic and community of activity areas to have quality physical activity experiences in regard to play, physical education, active recreation and sport within primary, intermediate and secondary school and kura settings.  

As part of Korikori, the Healthy Active Learning initiative helps to create healthy and active school environments by improving the wellbeing of children and young people through healthy eating and drinking, and quality physical activity. Healthy Active Learning Advisors will work with Boards of Trustees, principals, senior leaders and teachers of primary and intermediate schools to provide advice and customised support. This will enable schools to strategise, plan and develop systems that contribute to the development of an active and healthy school culture. 

As a Healthy Active Learning Advisor, you will have the following attributes and skills: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and/or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum with practical delivery experience 
  • Knowledge of the systems, structures and operating models that underpin the education, sport, active recreation and play sectors across Aotearoa New Zealand 
  • Knowledge and understanding of how the sport and education sectors interact to deliver PE, sport, active recreation and play opportunities for tamariki 
  • Experience in leading change in the school setting and influencing at different levels (Boards of Trustees, management, teachers, parents) 
  • Excellent communication and strong relationship-building skills. 

This role will involve working at various locations within Central/East Auckland areas and require the ability to be flexible with work hours. A company vehicle is included in the package.

Remuera Rackets Club is one of NZ’s oldest and largest racquets clubs, located in Dilworth Ave. We’re proud of our outstanding facilities boasting ten tennis courts and six squash courts, as well as a full gym, sauna and swimming pool. Our bar and lounge provides refreshments to our 700 members and hosts plenty of events.

We are seeking applications for a part-time Sports and Marketing Administrator to join our friendly office team.

Reporting to the clubs General Manager, the key responsibilities of the role are to;

  • Grow our membership base in the appropriate areas using digital marketing campaigns and social media advertising.
  • Grow our social media channels by creating content and engaging with our audience
  • Communicate to our club members via newsletters, event posters & social channels
  • Enter various teams into competitions and coordinate with the captains and the relevant organisations.
  • Be the primary office contact to our members and guests, including court bookings and queries.
  • Administer new member sign ups and follow up on leads. This will require an understanding our club management system; Hello Club.
  • Assist with any other basic administration duties.

The role is 15-20 hours per week – ideally from 2-6pm weekdays. You will be required to work from the office at the club.

The successful applicant will preferably have a background in marketing with experience in social media management. This role will require someone with very good organisational skills and a positive, outgoing attitude who can confidently engage with a wide range of people (our membership – tennis, squash, gym, Pilates – ranges from 5 year olds through to 90 year olds).

There is plenty of parking on site, or we are located a very short walk from the Remuera train station. This role also receives full members access to all our facilities.

Sport Tasman is the Regional Sports Trust for the Top of the South region.  The aim of the Trust is to improve community well-being through active recreation and sport.

An opportunity exists to join the Trust in a full time, permanent position as Secondary Schools Regional Sports Director (RSD).

The main aim of the role is to increase to level of participation of secondary school students in sport and active recreation.  It is also to provide support to school sport staff for them to enable this.  The RSD will need to influence key stakeholders to change and enhance sport and active recreation opportunities for secondary school students across the region.

Relevant qualifications and/or suitable level of experience in event management is essential with experience in the sport and recreation industry preferred.  A solid understanding of the management of secondary school sport would be an advantage.
