COACH DEVELOPMENT

Coaches play an important role in the Auckland sport and recreation system. Along with parents / caregivers, teachers and sports leaders, coaches have a huge influence on the people they work with.

Sport Auckland works alongside Aktive, Harbour Sport, Sport Waitakere, CLM Community Sport to support the delivery of coach development opportunities in clubs, schools and regional organisations. Whether you are supporting coaches, coaching beginners, giving your playing partners some tips or leading a group, our programmes have something for you.

Caitlin was born and raised in Auckland, finding a passion for sport through coaching while attending high school. Coaching at her local tennis club built her love for supporting people of all ages to be active and lead her to complete a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation at Auckland University of Technology.

Throughout her time studying Caitlin continued to seek opportunities to coach both in clubs and schools along with volunteering at numerous sports organisations, planning and hosting events.

Prior to joining the Sport Auckland team Caitlin spent a number of years coordinating after school coaching programmes and assisting in the management of an indoor tennis club.

Caitlin continues to live her passion for sport and activity. Tennis, running and yoga being some of her favourite ways to keep moving.
